Your adventure trip will pass through Kyzyl-Kum desert, the ancient settlement of Janbas-Kala, the ruins of citadels, “the cemetery of ships” and other mysterious sights. The tour is spiced up with the accommodation in yurt camps which will let you plunge into the local specific atmosphere, feel like nomads and make friends with locals. Moreover, there will be exciting camelback riding at the shores of the picturesque lake.

Day 1 - Arrival - Tashkent City Tour

Day 2 - Samarkand City Tour

Sights of Samarkand
After breakfast, the day will start with a drive to Samarkand where you will have a city tour. The history, culture and architecture of Samarkand are really worthy of attention. Being one of the most ancient cities on the earth, this «city of famous shadows» witnessed many historical events and shakes. According to some historical data, it was founded in the VII century BC. First, you will see the main square of the city – Registan with three madrassas (Islamic schools): Madrassah of Ulugbek (15th c), Madrassah Sherdor and Madrassah Tilla Kori(15th-17th cc). The further program includes visits to Gur Emir Mausoleum – a burial vault of Timurids dynasty(14th-15th cc), Bibi Khanim Mosque (15th c) – the biggest medieval building in the city, Mausoleum of Khoja Daniyar (Saint Daniel)14th c, Museum of Afrosiab and Ulugbek Observatory (15th c). Ulugbek calculated the length of the sidereal year to 365 days, 5 hours, 49 minutes, and 15 seconds, which was even more accurate than the calculations of Copernicus 88 years later. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, you will visit the carpet factory and oriental bazaar – Siab, where you can make shopping and see the ancient colourful market. At the central bazaar, you’ll have a chance to enjoy the tastes and aroma of local exotic products. Be sure to buy Samarkand national round bread (non). The bazaar offers bright fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, spices, local snacks, sweet cakes, chill tea, as well as local handicraft. Dinner will be organized in a local restaurant.

Me and my friends were planning this trip for several years. Finally we chose Arara Central Asia to organize the whole experience for us. I can say that the tour went smoothly and met all of our expectations. The whole process starting from organization period till the end of the tour was very well-organized. Our guide Ansar was an adventurous soul one can only wish for! At the same time he was very caring, attentive to our needs and supportive. As a trip highlight I would like to mention Moynaq ship cemetery in Uzbekistan desert. It was an experience one will always remember.

We surely plan to return to Central Asia visiting other wonderful countries this region offers. Thank you Arara for this beautiful memories.

I selected a 12-day jeep tour around Uzbekistan and my experience couldn't have been better. Not only they offered me a tour that perfectly met my requirements considering the time I had and what I wanted to do, but also they taught me a lot about Uzbekistan, its food and traditions. The guide Shukhrat was amazing: very attentive, fun and a great guy. I even got to know his family. The territory of Great Silk Road is one of the perfect areas in Uzbekistan to drive on good-conditioned and comfortable 4-wheels vehicles, provided by the company. The hotels were super comfortable and the food I had was very tasty, instead of one where the shower was broken. So, if you are jeep lovers, there is a great choice for you to choose this tour through this new but experienced company.
