Introduction

Our Tajikistan 4WD Adventure is an exciting off-road tour passing through uncharted isolated mountainous areas. The highlight of the tour is Pamir Mountain Range known as “the Roof of the World”. You will drive along Pamir highway, admire the view of snowcapped peaks, transparent lakes, brights meadows as well as meet locals leaving in this far of civilization area with their own traditions and dialect. On the way, you will reveal the diversity of local flora and fauna and come across various unique kinds of animals. This trip will be attractive for the lovers of exotics, those who are curious about the ethnic and cultural diversity and are captivated by the beauty of wild nature.

Day 1 - Arrival - Dushanbe City Tour

Day 2 - Dushanbe - Nurek - Kalaikhum

Kalaikhum - Nurek Water Reservoir - Tajik Sea - Panj River

The day will start with a drive to Kalaikhum village. Your way will pass by Nurek water reservoir that is called Tajik Sea. It is a large artificial lake created to build a hydroelectric station. It is a really nice place. The lake has become an important part in the ecosystem – its waters are rich in fish species and it is a stopover for birds of passage. The lake has even become a nice place for summer holidays, there are sanatoriums on the shores. The highest point of the day is the Shuraba Pass (2 267 m). After a while, you will approach the Afghanistan border and will drive along with it. The area will amaze you by its unique mountains – it is already Territory of Pamir Mountains. Pamirs are majestic severe peaks with glaciers and lakes. Over the centuries, the Pamirs have inspired the world’s greatest explorers – Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. And now you also have a chance to travel here. You will drive along the natural border – Panj River. Having visited the Pamirs, many travellers called this giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. Dinner will be organized in a local restaurant.

Hi everyone!

Our kind and friendly tour operator Sati organised a wonderful jeep tour in Tajikistan for me and my husband. Our guide Lola and driver were professionals, knowledgeable and very talkative. What we knew about Tajikistan was that it is the poorest country of Central Asia with an income of about 800 dollars. Tajikistan is famous for its highest flagpole and dependency on migrant transfers in the world. We mostly like the mountains of Tajikistan, and if you decide to travel in Tajikistan, jeep tour is the most suited tour for travelling there. The hotels where we stayed were good with a panoramic view. Also, we had free time to walk around the city and visit the sights without haste.
