Kant town, founded in 1928/34, is an administrative centre in Ysyk-Ata District of Chuy Province in Kyrgyzstan, 20 kilometres far away from Eastern Bishkek. It has received the status of “city” since 1985. On account of the sugar factory, the town has been named as Kant which is translated from Kyrgyz “sugar”.
Thus, the town is located 20 kilometres far away from Bishkek at an altitude of 777 metres above sea level. The closest airport “Minas” is located 45 kilometres away. On the other hand, in comparison with Kant Military Airfield situated in the vicinity, Railway Station is located within the town. According to the results of 2017, the population was 21400 people. Overall, Kant town is a residency place of various nationalities.
