Monument of ten Akhal-Teke horses

Ashgabat can be considered the city of unique monuments. One of the impressive examples is the monument of ten Akha-Teke horses in the center of Ashgabat. The monument was opened on the 10th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan from the Soviet Union.

The monument of horses is devoted to Turkmen Akhal-Teke racehorse breed that is considered a national treasure. The breed is known for endurance, speed, intelligence and eye-catching metallic sheen of the coat. For the incredible sheen, they got the nickname “Golden horses”. Akha-Teke horses are perfectly adapted to the climate of the region.

The monument is surrounded by fountains. This beautiful composition is a popular place for photoshoots of newlyweds and tourists.
