This day will be devoted to the full exploration of Almaty city. It is the former capital of Kazakhstan and one of the largest settlements in the country. Till nowadays, it has retained the status of cultural, financial and economic center and a millionaire city. Despite its modernization, the city managed to preserve its unique original national flavor and color and now friendly welcomes its guests. Your sightseeing program will include the main sights of the city: Panfilov Park, Zenkov Wooden Cathedral, St. Nicholas Cathedral, National Musical Instruments Museum, Central State Museum, Almaty's Green Bazaar, and an observatory. Panfilov Park is probably the most popular recreation area of locals. It was founded in 1870 on the place of a Cossack village cemetery and after a semi centenary, it was renamed to commemorate Panfilov soldiers who died during the WWII. In Almaty Green Bazaar you will plunge into a real Asian atmosphere; its shelves offer smoked fish, spices, medicinal herbs, cheeses, sausages and enormous hunks of fresh meat among which the main place belongs to horsemeat. Here you will find such unique national products as kymyz (fermented horse milk) and shubat (fermented camel milk). In the National Musical Instruments Museum, you will get acquainted with ancient Kazakh musical instruments the most ancient of which belongs to the 17 century.
