National Museum - Nissa Fortress - Darvaza Gas Crater
After breakfast, you will have a short sightseeing tour around Ashgabat. The tour will include visits to Turkmenistan National Museum and Old Nissa ancient settlement which once was the capital of Parthia. Old Nissa is a huge fortress with various palace and temple structures. During the tour, you will also see the Independence Park and Neutrality Arch. After lunchtime, you will head to Darvaza burning gas crater (Door to Hell) which is a stunning unique natural sight. Here you will have a chance to watch fire erupting in the middle of the desert. The appearance of this site is still shrouded in secrets. It happened in 1971 when Soviet geologists found gas accumulation in this place. They started to drill at the site where they tapped into the underground cavern. However, there took place an incident: all the equipment and transport fell down in the big hole. In order to prevent the release of poisonous gases from the hole, they decided to burn it off. Geologists assumed that the fire would go out in a few days, but they were mistaken. Since 1971, the natural gas from the crater has been continuously burning day and night. Return to Ashgabat (slow driving after dark). Arrival at the hotel before or just after midnight.

Annabelle

Hi Sati,
As you know, I travelled to Central Asia with my parents and spent a great time. We had very informative and friendly guides like Lola in Tajikistan and Jennet in Turkmenistan, as well as drivers moved on the roads smoothly though the parts of Kyrgyzstan were difficult to pass. As the air-conditioning of the car was broken at the beginning of the tour, we want to thank you for a quick response to the problem. All the hotels were nice, but there were the broken shower and hot water problems in the hotel of Tajikistan. Sati, once again many thanks for your hard work. I will definitely be in touch with you soon for future travel.
Sincerely,
Annabelle

Gabriel

My friend Bev and I chose a trip to the five wonders of Central Asia by the enthusiastic tour manager Muzaffar’s advice. The most exotic moments of our adventure were the Seven Lakes in Tajikistan. However, in Turkmenistan, we were impressed with Independence Park of Ashgabat, made of white marble and gold. During the days that we spent in Kazakhstan, we liked the hospitability and kindness of people, from Kyrgyzstan the breathtaking nature and from Uzbekistan the Great Silk Road. We were absorbing the history of Central Asia as we go along and were eager for more. All our guides were helpful and informative; our favourite guide was Jennet in Ashgabat, as well as guide Bobozhon and driver Murad in Seven Lakes. All along the way, food and accommodations were good. We especially liked the Navvat restaurant in Almaty. Internet connections were good in the hotels. Thanks again to Muzaffar for organizing a perfect tour for us!! Of course, we’ll recommend this company to our friends for their future travellings.
Regards,
Gabriel

Sam and Louisa

Hi there!
I travelled with my husband to all five countries of Central Asia. Everything in all countries, besides Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, was well-organised. I highlighted these two countries because we spent here very few days and couldn’t see and communicate with all traditions, customs and culture of the countries. In other countries, the program was spread very well and we didn’t have such kind of problem. I’ll suggest developing these parts of the tour. All guides were knowledgeable and experienced, but we want to separate Anjelika from Uzbekistan and Bobozhon from Tajikistan that they were very hospitable and friendly, and even took us to their home to communicate closely with their traditions and customs. Our drivers were experts and punctual, though some vehicles were old. Look and services of the hotels were nice. Overall, we both were satisfied for wonderful days!!!
Best of Luck,
Louisa
